###Popular How to Shop For Kitchen Appliance Packages in 2010

With Christmas over and the New Year rapidly approaching, customers will soon begin to spec out new home appliances for their spring home improvement projects. There are some incredible kitchen appliance package deals being put forth by appliance stores and manufacturers right now, with the hopes of getting consumers to spend money a bit earlier than normal, so you may want to start your shopping and purchasing a bit earlier. Also keep in mind that there should be an appliance cash for clunkers program available in February, so that should bring even further savings home to consumers.
The most important thing that a consumer needs to realize as they begin to spec appliances is that never before have they wielded such power when it comes to purchasing. There are incredible rebate programs available, manufacturers have held off on the normal end of the year price increases. and retailers are more than likely going to offer steeper discounts in order to drive sales to hit quotas and continue to navigate the rough economic waters the sector has been embroiled in for the past 2 years.
Tip # 1 - Buy Your Kitchen Appliance Package Earlier
The Holidays and January are typically not hot periods for appliance sales. Most consumers are thinking about TVs, other electronics, clothes etc. It isn't until late Jan-Feb until consumers really start to spec out appliances for their Spring home improvement jobs. However, Dec 2009 and Jan-Feb 2010 are different. As I mentioned in the prior paragraph, there are incredible rebate deals on the table right now, from GE giving $500 back for the purchase of a 4-piece kitchen appliance package, Whirlpool giving away hundreds of dollars for buying an appliance package as well as a host of other deals on kitchen appliance packages. The home appliance industry has seen its two worst years in decades, so manufacturers and appliance store retailers are prepared to deal in order to close sales in this typically slow time period.
Tip #2 - Focus on Energy Efficiency
When looking at dishwashers, refrigerators and laundry washers, you are being incentivized to buy Energy Star rated appliances. Not only will you save money by running them as opposed to an energy hog unit, the rebates are also more significant on Energy Star appliance models. Manufacturers are being incentivized by the government to sell "green" and "environmentally-friendly" units, so take advantage of manufacturer and retailers push to sell these energy-efficient appliances. Plus, you may want to check with your accountant to see if there are any tax breaks for using Energy Star-rated appliances in your home.
Tip #3 - Focus on Features That You Need
In many ways the home appliance industry is becoming more and more reminiscent of the car business - more emphasis is being placed on features, "sexiness" and the WOW factor. RPM speeds are touted in washers, burner BTU output is emphasized on cooking ranges, computer menus are the rage on wall ovens, and immense capacity is the flavor for dryers. All of these features can make your head spin as most manufacturers use different ratings and different names to measure and qualify these attributes, and if you are looking for a kitchen appliance package keeping track of everything will make your head start to spin. Do your research on line, stop into a few stores and touch and feel the product, and then sit back and ask yourself "What do I really need"?
Not becoming enamored by all of the latest bells and whistles and sticking to the fundamentals will end up saving you a lot of money, guaranteed.

#$%#Top Tips to Save Money on Purchase of Home Appliances

Appliances that we buy for our home are often one of the most expensive purchases in our life. Whether we choose the cheapest line or the most expensive line, we spend a good amount of money to purchase them. And since they make our lives easier in many ways, it's also true that we try to purchase the best model without spoiling our budget. So the question is how can we save money while purchasing home appliances? Given below are some tips as an answer to this question:
  1. Look for Trade-In options: This is my favorite option because it provides the opportunity of purchasing a new in-box appliance without spending much from the pocket. You might've traded-in your old car sometime in your life to purchase a new car, but do you know that you can do the same while purchasing a home appliance too? Yep my friend, it's true. You just need to find out a trade-in deal in your locality, which can be done easily by checking with the dealers in your area.
  2. Shop around the festive season: This is my second favorite option because here too we get an opportunity to purchase new in-box items on heavy discounts. In most countries purchasing appliances near the festive season is the best option to save money because companies come up with awesome festive deals and discounts. Even better, some also offer attractive incentives if you purchase from credit cards or store credit. Get your eyes on the ads of newspapers and websites during the festive season and stay prepared for closing a deal. Also check the departmental stores of shopping malls on regular basis. Chances are higher that you'll find a great deal to make your purchase.
  3. Buy the model of last year: If purchasing the latest model doesn't matter a lot to you then congratulations! You qualify for massive savings on your next appliance purchase. Just buy the model of last year and you'll see the difference yourself. Best time to purchase is somewhere between the months of September and October because at that time stores suffer from pressure of cleaning space for new arrivals.
  4. Buy a floor model of the appliance: How much do you care about the box in which your appliance comes? If not much then you can save big on your appliance purchase because store owners offer discounts on the floor models of appliances. There's nothing wrong with these models except a box of cardboard. Sacrifice a little packaging and save bigger on your appliance purchase.
  5. Find out some small appliance stores: A number of such stores may depend on your locality, but in most cases you can find at least one such store in your city. Pricing options of small appliance stores are usually lower in comparison to the options of bigger appliance stores. Often such stores receive discounts from manufacturers for selling the older models, so you must consider them if your goal is to save money. Sometimes you may find yourself wandering from one store to another, but that's how you'll find an appliance that suits your needs.
  6. Purchase from Outlet Stores: These stores offer appliances which are either no longer in production or have been returned by someone due to any reason, but are in decent working condition. Try looking for outlet stores in your locality. Chances are they'll be located away from the mainstream shopping area. They offer good discounts while still holding up to the warranties and servicing options on appliances sold by them.
  7. Purchase from Scratch and Dent Section: If you don't mind about a scratch on your new appliance and care only about its functionality then this will be a great option. Purchase your appliance from the scratch and dent section of store and enjoy the bigger savings. However, ensure that all warranties apply on your purchase and there's no defect in the functionality of appliance that you're buying.
  8. Choose the size wisely: What's the point of purchasing overly large appliances when a smaller option can fulfill your needs? Choose the size of your appliances wisely and according to family needs because larger appliances often do nothing instead of increasing costs. If your needs can be fulfilled by a smaller appliance, go for it!
  9. Compare ads of multiple stores: I know you don't touch your local newspaper after digital revolution of iPad, but if you want to save money on your home appliance purchase then get your eyes on them for a small time at least. Compare the ads of multiple local store owners and figure out who is offering more discounts on the purchase of same or similar appliances. This small exercise will let you know that how much you'll be able to save even before you go to the store.

###Best Home Appliances Repairs Tips

When home appliances begin to make noises or may not be working properly the homeowner should take notice. The nature of the repair will depend on what type of problem the appliance is having. Taking the time to address these issues can give the homeowner the opportunity to save the appliance and to save themselves from greater expenses later down the road.
When it is noticed that the clothes dryer is taking a longer time to dry the clothes properly then it is time to take a look at what could be causing the problem. Higher utility bills are also another way to realize that an appliance may not be functioning properly.
Addressing the dishwasher issue can prove to be time consuming and costly. When the homeowner notices that the dishes have to be washed over again and the water and electric bills are raising then this is the time when the dishwasher needs to be repaired. Having the dishwasher repaired as quickly as possible could prevent the owner from having to replace the whole appliance.
No matter which appliance needs repairs, the problems that may seem simple on the surface could actually be a greater underlying issue. Pay close attention to noises and times it is taking the appliance to accomplish the job. Addressing the problems at hand as soon as they are noticed can ensure savings on time and expense.
By replacing broken parts the homeowner can only extend the life of the appliance. For the owner this means a savings in time and money. In most cases the homeowner can make the repairs. For more serious faults the help of a professional may be warranted. As soon as you've realized that the problem is becoming a major issue, take the necessary steps to get the appliance fixed. Whether the homeowner makes the repairs or a qualified technician is called upon taking care of the home appliance as quickly as possible will only save time and expense.
